 A significant wage-related dispute concerning 423 contract workers engaged at Ordnance Factory, Kanpur, under Advanced Weapons and Equipment India Limited (AWEIL) has been successfully resolved through the timely intervention and sustained conciliation efforts of the Regional Labour Commissioner (Central), Kanpur, under the aegis of the Office of the Chief Labour Commissioner (Central), Ministry of Labour & Employment, Government of India.

Waste to Woods: Raichur Reclaims 22 Acres with Miyawaki Transformation

Raichur in Karnataka, has transformed the 35-acre Yakalaspura dumpsite into a green asset through scientific legacy waste remediation under the Swachh Bharat Mission-Urban 2.0 (SBM-U 2.0). ~ 62,252 MT of waste has been processed and nearly 22 acres of valuable urban land, has been reclaimed so far. The restored site now supports sustainable land use, including a vibrant Miyawaki forest, demonstrating how former dumpsites can be converted into thriving ecological spaces.

Raksha Mantri Shri Rajnath Singh flagged-off the All India Girls High Altitude Long Trek ‘Aparajita - Parang La 2026’, a flagship adventure activity of the National Cadet Corps (NCC), during an event in New Delhi on August 18, 2026. The trek will traverse the Parang La Pass (5,578 metres, 18,300 feet), connecting the Spiti Valley of Himachal Pradesh with the Changthang region of Ladakh and is regarded as one of the country’s most challenging high-altitude trekking routes.
